Fanis Kafantaris and Chrysanthi Koumianaki invited visitors to take a walk in the neighbourhood of Neapoli in Exarcheia with a map they had prepared tracing points of interest and recommended routes. Within the practice of both architect Kafantaris and artist Koumianaki the street, its use and as a result its erosion forms part of their research. They consider the street and the sidewalks as a possible excavation site in the distant future: Broken marble curbs, deformed paving and cracked slabs of various kinds, improvised, glued back together or even cut street posts, bent street signs, cast iron caps and pipes, forgotten chains, padlocks and trinkets could be then findings and their wear perhaps the object of an archaeological study.

Chrysanthi Koumianaki. 1985, Heraklion. Lives in Athens.
Her practice investigates the idea of translation, creating symbolic systems, ciphers and alphabets focusing on non-verbal communication. She reconsiders and manipulates rules and methods of a global visual language, creating new narratives which reflect upon different times. Her main body of work are installations combining different media like prints, ephemeral drawings, video, sound and metal constructions.

Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in institutions, museums and galleries which among them include: Kadist, Paris (2017); Danske Grafikeres Hus, Copenhagen (2017); Benaki Museum, Athens (2016); DESTE Foundation, (2016); State of Concept, Athens (2016); Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art (2015); Athens Biennale, (2013); EMST, Athens (2013). Since 2012, along with Kosmas Nikolaou and Paky Vlassopoulou, she is one of the co-founders of 3 137 artist-run space.

Fanis Kafantaris. 1983, Larissa. Lives and works in Athens.
He recieved his diploma (ΜArch, BArch) from School of Architecture NTUA in Athens where he completed advanced postgraduate studies in architectural theory (MPhil/ MRes) and currently supports his personal design practice since 2010 and is a Phd Student in NTUA. Materiality transitions of the urban environment and the formative role of the design in the everyday experience in the city are of great interest in his work.

He has worked as a freelancer on a broad range of building programs and design-studies and participated in urban-design projects and research programmes in planning for Athens and other cities in Greece. Works of his and in partnership were exhibited both in architecture and artists group shows and public events. He is a founding member of the group 'Constructing Siesta' and a partner at 'That Yucca' graphic design studio.
